Wednesday 7th July – Moors Run to Hebden Bridge & Holmfirth

Our July Wednesday ride will meet at 09.15 for a 09.30 am start at the The Old Spring Well, HG3 2AP.

We head west on the A59 for a short while, then over Askwith Moor & onto Ilkley, Addingham Moor, Glusburn Moor & onto Widdop Moor & Hebden Bridge where we will stop for a coffee.

Suitably replete, we head over Soyland, Rishworth & Moss Moors, skirting Oldham and onto Saddleworth Moor and The Carding Shed, Washpit Mills, Green Lane, Holmfirth HD9 2RD, where we take lunch & stroll around the classic car displays.

After lunch, we head south over Daisy Lee Moor, then east & north to the M1 services at Woolley Edgewhere our ride will finish. (Close to Yorkshire Sculpture Park, which used to be free for bikes but now you must pre-book & pay to visit YSP

Total 110 miles to Woolley Edge. It’s a further 27 miles north on the M1 to the A1 Junction 45 (A659) for Wetherby and Harrogate, etc.

Andrew Pratt will lead this one, with a volunteer tail-ender on the day.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the Old Spring Well.  No need to book now that the restrictions are easing so just turn up in good time with plenty of fuel and enjoy the ride. Of course remember social distancing guidelines and wearing of masks at appropriate times.
