Mid Week Ride Out Wednesday 4th September

The September Wednesday Ride Out will start at the Route 59 Café (A59 just west of the Bolton Abbey roundabout).

Meet from 9.15 for prompt start at 9.45am.

The route takes us north up through Wharfedale and into Wensleydale, turning right on the A684 towards Leyburn then left on minor road before the town and towards our morning coffee stop.

Coffee stop – Castle Bolton

The route continues on minor roads along the north side of Wensleydale towards Askrigg and Hardraw, turning right over Buttertubs and into Swaledale, then left on the B6270. Continue on B6270 to the outskirts of Kirkby Stephen, then west to Ravenstonedale and lunch.

Have your camera ready – sightings of Red Squirrels (almost) guaranteed!

After lunch we’ll pick up the A685 north through Kirkby Stephen towards Brough, turning right through Kaber and Barras, passing the Tan Hill Inn and on into Reeth.

From Reeth we continue east to Ellerton Abbey before taking the minor road to Stainton, Barden Moor and Hauxwell, turning right along more minor roads to Coverbridge.

A6108 from Coverbridge to Masham then through the town, heading due south to Grewelthorpe and Kirkby Malzeard. The route continues south to the east of Pateley Bridge, joining the B6165 east of the town for the final leg into Ripley and a traditional ice cream stop.

Route length: 150 miles

Ride out will be lead by David Haywood, tail ender to be confirmed.
